Welcome! I’m Kelly, and this is my creative blog.
I learn to make, and I make to learn. I’m a knitter and a spinner. I process and dye my own fiber; I spin my own yarn. I think up more patterns than I will ever write down. I plan more projects than I will ever have time for. Someday soon I’ll start weaving on that loom. I’m a student of yoga, and dream of understanding ancient sanskrit. I sail. I love being outside, and getting other people outside. I attempt to keep my favorite plants alive in my garden. I’m a Sean Nos dancer, and occasionally also play traditional Irish music. I’m interested in history, cultural traditions, and ecology. I enjoy reading, wine, whiskey, and good food. I love to travel. I live near the Chesapeake Bay with my two Cardigan Corgi dogs, and DH.
What’s in a name? I met My Guy in 2004. On our very first date – a casual dinner outing and walk by the harbor – he brought a surprise for me: six beautiful perfect-pink roses. And he told me, “You’re a girl who deserves to get flowers more often.” Since then, every week, there have always been flowers on Tuesdays. Sometimes a full bouquet, sometimes a few glorious stems; always “the prettiest ones they had in the shop”. In part, this is my way of sharing that with whoever finds it, and whoever you share it with – everyone deserves beauty in their lives.
